Celtic Women Institute 

"The Gael is Awakening," is an expression in various communities of Scots-Gaels in Canada.  "The Celtic Tiger" has been used to describe the Irish Economic Renaissance in recent decades.  The Scots have a parliament now and there is a hugh revival of all things Celtic on both sides of the Atlantic.  Is this a spiritual revival, a desire for another way of organizing society - more environmentally, ecologically structured?  Is it a dis-enchantment with the ways things have been going?  Is there a critical mass to accomplish substantive changes at the level of community and society, honoring ancient traditions and longings?  We will examine what is happening in the Celtic world, currently, and what this has to do with us, here in Vermont and in North America.
